Accommodation Category Definitions
Bed & Breakfast (B&B): a private home that
offers overnight
accommodation and breakfast for paying guests. Often
guests will have their own guest lounge and bathroom area.
Homestay: a private home whereby guests usually share
facilities with owners.
Farmstay: a private home set
on a farm, whereby guests usually share facilities and meals with owners.
A chance to experience New Zealand farm life and often participate in
farm activities.
Self-contained (S/C): accommodations that have
their own kitchen, bathroom, and entrance. Guests
usually do their own cooking.
Holiday Home: independent
home with all facilities, but not attached to owners property.
Serviced Apartment: accommodation
usually includes separate entrance, own bathroom,
and may not have full kitchen facilities.

S = Single bed
KS = King Single
D = Double bed
Q =
Queen bed
K = King bed
SK = Super King bed
T = Twin beds
SK/T = Super-king bed splits into 2 singles
for twin occupancy.
SB = Sofa Bed

EN = Ensuite: attached to bedroom.
PR =
Private: separate for your exclusive use.
GS = Guest
Share: Share with other guests.
FS = Family Share: share
with other guests and hosts family.
